Description
If you're from the prairies, you'll know all about Saskatoons. They're plump and juicy. They're ripe and ready to pick in the hot, hot days of July. They'll purple your fingers and tease your taste buds. They're delicious baked in pies and heaped on ice cream. The name itself is derived from the Cree word 'Mis-sask-quah-too-mina'. The berries were a staple for aboriginal people and early settlers, and inspired the name of my home town of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
